This week’s mileage run (week 2) took me from SMF-ORD-CLT-IAH-SMF. While this trip wasn’t nearly as eventful as what happened last week, I was treated to some spectacular views on the ride home from Southeast Texas that I wanted to share.
I’m a window seat kind of girl and taking pictures from the plane is one of the many ways I entertain myself during these long cross country journeys. Today I was very entertained when our flight plan sent us a little further south than usual and over some new territory. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera’s memory card (ooops!) so believe it or not, all of the images below were taken with an iPhone 5.
Our route of flight aboard United 1714 took us roughly from Houston to El Paso, El Paso to Las Vegas, then Vegas to Tahoe and home over the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Highlights included the oil fields of West Texas, the White Sands Desert of New Mexico, The Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, and of course, beautiful Lake Tahoe.
